FAVOURITE LOCAL HANGOUT?
When we are not in lockdown, I am lucky enough to divide my time between London and rural Hampshire. I am still making discoveries in my local area which is fun and I’m a huge fan of a day out in Winchester and some retail therapy at the lifestyle store, Hambeldon. When I am in London, I spend a lot of my working and social time at the Conduit Club, it’s a great place for meetings, a healthy bite or a naughty cocktail.
SECRET WEAPON?
Apart from a Livotte top or two in my suitcase for retreats, I need the following:
A Sweaty Betty Super Grip Mat for my daily workouts. ( usually mix it up, Pilates, Yoga, Barre, Tabata…keeping it interesting and challenging is the key!
An occasional 1 or 3 day cleanse with Radiance to reset the digestive system.
Music. I am lucky enough to have spent my whole career working with great musicians -when I was a dancer and now as a choreographer and teacher. It’s the big mood changer for me and working with the DJs at Not Entertainment on curating our retreat sound is one of the best parts of my job.
CURRENT BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
We just delivered our first SLR@Home retreat program as a response to the challenges our clients face during lockdown. I was on a pretty steep learning curve when it came to filming and editing my own classes but I think the end result has been something that I, and my team at SLR, can be proud of. https://www.silverliningsretreats.com/slr-at-home
WHAT WOMAN INSPIRES YOU?
So many…
Tamara Rojo-director of English National Ballet
Maria Grazia Chiuri-Creative Director at Dior
Crystal Pite-Choreographer
Taryn Toomey-Creator of The Class
…my mother, my sisters, my colleagues, my clients, my wonderful girlfriends. I am just in awe at how they all keep the plates spinning with grace and a sense of fun!
QUOTE YOU LIVE BY?
Over the door in his New York studio, Joseph Pilates had written “one hour then hit the shower’ and this is just so true. You do not need to train for hours and hours. You need to be smart, consistent and totally committed for that hour and then get on with all the other things that your day has in store for you.
