Q. HARDEST LESSON YOU LEARNED IN BUSINESS?
I think the hardest lesson I have learned in Business is that you need to be flexible as things don’t always go as you plan but with unwavering faith you usually end up where you need to be- even if in the moment it does not seem that way.
Q. WHAT DEFINES YOUR BRAND OR BUSINESS?
I created a brand in response to listening to woman for 2 decades- wanting something that was easy to wear and wearable with everything so they did not have to think to hard when to put it on. It is an accessory that is a statement piece yet at the same time the simplicity of design and the shapes used that are inherant in nature make the pieces timeless, not something you will quickly tire from at an impulse purchase price point.
I love to make woman feel beautiful and look … Lastly, the brand is called ENCIRCLE NYC as I love all the connotations one can draw from Circles and the connectivity I hope to create between woman.
Fun fact: Statistically woman are more drawn to circles than any other shape.
Q. WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR WOMEN WITH START UP IDEAS?
Startups on a commercial manufacturing level are quite challenging. It takes a LOT of hard work and you must build your foundation as if you skip steps or don’t pay attention to detail you start out at a deficit. Securing good manufacturing in the US was my first priority once I had my designs. Securing a manufacturer you can work with and that does the quality level of work representative of your brand. Take as many meetings as possible with contacts in your business field. You learn so much from talking with others who have taken similar paths. Network . Lastly PERSEVRE. There are the great days , the bad day and all in between but your Passion for what you have set out to do keeps me going. Believe in yourself and keep it moving.
If you have a real Passion for something get out there and do it! Passion is what creates success. The road is curvy and it is quite challenging work but as you create something that people really respond to in a positive way , validation is huge. Just make sure you take the proper steps to build a foundation as G-d is in the details and attention to detail is the key to either possibly making $ or losing $. There is no easy road. Hard work is the only way but when you love what you are doing- its worth it. You grow, create new levels of self confidence and hopefully success. If you never get out and try for fear of failure, you will never know. We all fail at times but it is just an opportunity to shift your direction and try again…
Q. FAVOURITE LOCAL HANGOUT?
I would have to say in the past I have spend a good portion of my time at the Arts Club. It has just become a comfy home away from home to meet people for breakfast , lunch or dinner. I conduct business meetings there and have even had a few morning coffee casual jewelry showings. I enjoy the club as both a place to be social and do business. Plus the food is quite good!!!
Q. WHAT WOMAN INSPIRES YOU?
I would have to say my mom. She taught me to be strong. To persevere. To never give up. To continue to grow and always be the best version of me I can be. Integrity, Honesty and loyalty define me as demonstrated by my mom through all lifes up and downs.
Q. A QUOTE YOU LIVE BY?
“Just do it”. I know its the Nike phrase but it was actually something my father always said to me. It you think to much or procrastinate you don’t get the job done. Especially with the tedious things you resist doing. I power through and “Just do it”
